This book was written in very simple, clear Arabic language aiming to provide health professionals with important knowledge regarding physical activity. It consists of many parts, included many tables about essential concepts of physical activities. It started with giving a brief description of the manual and its expected outcomes regarding acquired knowledge and skills by health professionals. It provide the readers with different definition and classifications of physical activities. Author mentioned the healthy impact of physical activities and the negative effect of sedentary life on health. One of the chapters summarized the international policies relevant to physical activity and health promotion. In the next part, guidelines regarding physical activity in different age groups was discussed in detail. Author provides readers with many clinical examples in order to make the manual as practical as possible. The manual contained many tables and annexes which can be used by health c professionals when prescribing physical activities for their clients.
This manual is very practical, written in very simple language and could be used as a tool in prescribing physical activity for healthy individuals and for those with chronic morbidities such as obesity, diabetes and hypertension.
