Dear Brothers and Sisters, the members of the Saudi Arabian Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, our yet young society was established on 2010 under the umbrella of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS). It was the first medical professional society specialized in the field of obesity management in Saudi Arabia. During the first and second Terms/Rounds (2010–2017), the elected Executive Boards under the chairmanship and society presidency of our colleague Dr Waleed S. Abu- Melha had worked very hard to buildup the society from scratch, hence the society progressing forward. I am honored and privileged to be elected to serve as the president of the society and chairman of the Executive Board for the Third Term/Round (November 2017–November 2021). With the help, dedication, and contributions of my colleagues in the Executive Board and several of the members in the society, we strive to implement the vision and achieve the mission to accomplish the society objectives in harmony with the rules and regulations of the governing bodies and authorities. One of our main objectives is to publish the Saudi Journal of Obesity, currently under the leadership of the Editor-in-chief Professor Mohammed Al Naami, board member and chairman of the Education and Training Committee. I request from all our members to actively participate in the production and publication of this journal. We are welcoming and looking forward for your submission of works, research, and remarks to be published in the journal. Your scientific contributions and support are highly appreciated and are essential for development, advancement, and improvement of the society journal.
